You don’t have to be a big corporation to have great token marketing and blockchain marketing. The most important thing is that you know who your audience is and what they will want. You can engage with them on social media, ads, emails, or whatever other way seems best for you.
Here are ways small businesses can get ahead in their token marketing by tapping into the blockchain boom!
1. Create a kickstarter.
This is the easiest way to get started. Once you have your business objective, ask yourself what kind of token you would like to create. Why would someone want your token? Figure out the need and how you are going to solve it with your tokenization strategy. If you are creating a coin that will allow users to purchase data from your company, this is a good way to start. Create a campaign page on Kickstarter or IndieGoGo and see if there is interest in funding such a project or not! Use this for beta testing before launching on exchanges or in person!
2. Organize an ICO
Organizing an ICO is cheaper and more efficient than any other method of funding a project. First, you will need to create a white paper that outlines your business plan including how the funds you are putting up will be used, who is working on the project, their team experience and most importantly, the token economics behind your business model. Also make sure to pick a group that can help you out such as crypto coin or blockchain groups on Meetup.com or even reddit.com/r/icocrypto/. Many of these groups can host informational sessions and help you take your idea from zero to launch.
3. Accepting tokens as payment.
This method is a bit more specific to your business. If your business can accept crypto for payment for goods or services you are already headed in the right direction! All you have to do is receive the tokens during the purchase and hold them until you decide to sell on an exchange and convert them into fiat currency.
4. Hold an ICO and use the money generated from it.
This is a simple way of raising money for your company by launching an ICO at first and then using the funds made from selling your tokens to kick-start your business, creating more demand for your token through exposure, sales, marketing etc…
5. Airdrop your tokens.
This is a good way of getting your tokens into the hands of your audience (i.e. people interested in crypto) for free! All you have to do is create an Airdrop page announcing the date and time when you will be “airdropping” the tokens to people’s wallets. Hopefully from then on they will use these coins and actively participate in the community for blogger outreach in hopes that it will increase in value.
6. Help promote other ICOs.
When you see a project that interests you, you can help out by promoting it on your social media channels and being active in the discussions around it! This will not only help your own ICO, but other projects as well. If they have a token platform, they might be willing to give you a percentage of what they make from their own ICO as reward for helping them out!
7. Hold a meetup and host a Q&A with the CEO or CTO.
So you’ve decided to launch an ICO, great! Now it is time to start spreading the word. One of the best ways for you to do this is by holding a ‘meetup’ or an event where you can pitch your project to all of your local crypto enthusiasts. There are many services out there that can help such as Meetup.com or even Facebook. So, find some friends and get started!
8. Get your token listed on exchange sites.
If you have decided to sell your token through an ICO or have an existing token that is available on exchanges, it is up to you to get people interested in it and active in the community! In order to do this you will need good PR. Here are a few ways you can achieve this:
- Start by submitting your project on coinmarketcap.com/
- Use “crypto” sites such as CoinTelegraph for press releases.
- Create ‘advertorials’ for sites such as Bitcoin Magazine, Cryptoninjas, token marketing and other cryptocurrency focused blogs.
9. Use social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to spread the word about your ICO or project!!
10. Start a blog!
There are many entrepreneurs out there that believe that the only way to get the word out about your business is to write about it on your own website. This does not have to be a bad thing. It can be a great way of increasing your presence and awareness on the internet. However, if you do not have any experience in writing and posting articles on your website, try using professional content writing services such as slideshare or even Twitter!
